OFY Cares Blog

Options for Families and Youth, aka "OFY" is a non-profit adoption agency licensed in the state of Ohio by Job and Family Services to provide adoption services to families throughout the state of Ohio. OFY received its' official Hague/COA accreditation three years ago in 2013. Being Hague certified and COA accredited enables OFY to provide home study and post placement adoption services to families in Ohio who want to grow their families through international adoption.

In the past three years, Options for Families and Youth has had the pleasure of serving 63 families with their international home studies. Twenty-three orphaned children have already been adopted from other countries and have arrived home to Ohio with their forever families.

An adoptive mother recently said, “This is going so much better than we ever would have thought.  Our daughter just blended right into our family!”  She explained that so many people have been so supportive to them throughout this adoption journey including their church congregation, the adoption support group at their church, the placing agency, the local, Ohio agency, and their family and friends.

It’s been quite some time since I’ve written anything for the home page. Hey! Did you miss me?

I thought so. We have been busy forging a partnership with an agency that we believe will be a good thing for everyone involved.

Options for Families and Youth (OFY) has decided to transition the administration, management and supervision of our counseling/therapy services (better known as Behavioral Health Services) to Pathway Caring for Children (Pathway CFC).

The title above speaks for itself. The past two months have been extremely demanding in terms of staff time and effort. It’s been energy-draining but also a fruitful time. I’d like to take few sentences to single out a few prominent moments:

OFY is currently developing funds for 2 initiatives in Uganda. Both of these projects, when completed, will improve the quality of life for poverty stricken Ugandan children and their families.
