Beaded Necklaces from Arise and Shine Uganda

In Uganda, not everyone that is in an orphanage is an orphan. Many of the children still have a mom or a dad. Because of the rampant poverty however, many Ugandan mothers will bring their children to an orphanage so that they are assured that their children will be fed and get medical care. Orphanage Directors often encourage Ugandan mothers to start a business or make items that they can sell for income, so that they can then get their children back and can provide for them. On Mike’s August trip to Uganda, he purchased 62 rolled-paper, beaded necklaces made by Ugandan mothers who hope to provide better for their children. The money is on its way to an Orphanage near Jinja called Arise and Shine Uganda, so that it can be delivered to those Ugandan mothers.
