Pathway Caring for Children Therapy Services

Pathway Caring for Children and Options for Families and Youth have entered into a mutually beneficial partnership in which all mental and behavioral health services will now be offered by Pathway’s licensed mental health therapists and clinical social workers at this office location. Both Pathway and OFY have worked toward a seamless transition in ensuring that all existing clients will experience no interruption of services currently being provided.

Pathway’s mental health counseling services can help children, families, and adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties. Partnering with schools, parents, teachers, and physicians, Pathway therapists help to strengthen the lives of children and families, and support the mental wellness of our community.

We are committed to forming an individualized plan that may include individual or group therapy, support groups, or case management in an effort to bring about positive change and growth.

What will counseling sessions be like?

You will be assigned to a licensed therapist who will assess the needs and challenges you, your child, and/or your family have been experiencing.  You will typically have weekly or twice monthly sessions. Counseling sessions with children often involve play therapy, sandtray therapy and other creative tools to help children feel comfortable sharing with their therapist.

What are Trauma Informed Services and CPST?

At Pathway, we are sensitive to the fact that many of our clients have experienced some type of traumatic event in their lives.  We understand the strong impact trauma has on a person’s physical, emotional, mental, and social experiences. Our therapists utilize specialized approaches, including TF-CBT, DBT and EMDR, to promote open communication and to help develop healthy coping skills.

CPST case management (Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment) is a program that provides support to a client with the goal of improving their ability to succeed in school, home, work, and/or the community.  A case manager will work with the client to identify and access needed services meant to empower the child and their family. CPST and Therapists work closely as a team to provide comprehensive individualized treatment to children and families.
